
During your time in 10th Grade...

FALL
- Meet with me again! By your sophomore year, I am hoping to know you well enough to be of use during your college searching and application process. Please do not hesitate to come to me with questions or concerns!
- Consider registering to take the PSAT in October! This can help you to prepare for taking the SAT junior year.
- Ask me for information about various college & career fairs.
- Be sure to participate in at least 1-2 school activities. Involving yourself in extracurricular activities has many benefits.
WINTER
- Track your accomplishments to ensure you are staying organized and recording your success.
- Sign up for some more AP or honor courses for your junior year. This provides you with an opportunity to take college-level course during your high school education, as well as with the chance to take college-level exams.
- If you are thinking of joining a military academy, you should request a questionnaire form from the one you are interested in.
- Revisit your college list. Begin planning out in-person or virtual tours of each campus.
SPRING
- Invest some of your time in taking practice SAT tests.
- Work on your reading and writing skills.
- Set up a financial plan and discuss the costs with your family.
- Attend college and career fairs.
- Study for the SAT and/or ACT.
